    What You'll Gain

    BIG WINS IN
    This

No experience needed. Start with our Trial Program — two beginner classes for $40 — and move at your own pace.

    I

    Focus That Transfers

Memorizing forms and combinations trains working memory and sustained attention — and parents usually hear about it from the classroom teacher first.

    II

    Bully-Proof Confidence

Students learn to defend themselves physically, and to use their voice to stand up for themselves and for others.

    III

    Discipline Without Drill Sergeants

Structure, clear expectations, and consequences that make sense. Respect is taught by being shown it, every class.

    IV

    Perseverance

A belt is not given for showing up. Learning to keep working at something difficult is the point of the ranking system.

    V

    Physical Fitness

Strength, flexibility and coordination built through full-body movement, in an hour with no screens in it.

    VI

    A Path With Milestones

The belt system gives clear, achievable goals — short term and long term — so progress is something a child can see.

Is This Program Right For You?

    Values Built Between
    Instructor & Student

Our Kids Program is for Yorktown-area children ready for real training — where the expectations rise as they do, and the belt on their waist reflects work they actually did.

Ages 6 – 13 — beginners and transferring students both welcome

Children who need help with focus, listening, or self-regulation

Kids dealing with bullying, or afraid of standing up for themselves

Students who thrive on clear goals and visible progress

Parents looking for an activity that reinforces what they teach at home

Families from Yorktown, Somers, Mt Kisco, Bedford Hills or Cortlandt Manor

Our success is measured by how much our students grow.

    FAQs

    COMMON KIDS PROGRAM
    Questions

Is martial arts good for kids with ADHD or focus issues?

The combination of intense physical exertion, structured routine and mindfulness engages the brain's executive functions. Learning and memorizing combinations trains working memory and sustained attention. The belt system provides clear, achievable milestones, while a predictable class structure prevents the mental fatigue that open-ended workouts often cause. And intense full-body movement burns off excess energy, leaving children calmer and more centered.

Will Taekwondo make my child more aggressive?

The opposite, in our experience. Students are taught from day one that what they learn is for defense and for self control. Courtesy and restraint are graded just as seriously as technique — a student who misuses what they learn does not advance.

My child is starting later than everyone else. Is that a problem?

No. Children join our Kids Program at every age in the range, and beginners are grouped so they are never the only new student in the room. The Trial Program — two beginner classes for $40 — is designed exactly for this.

How often should my child train?

Most of our students attend up to two classes per week, which is enough to progress steadily without crowding out school and family time.

    How does belt promotion work?

Students are examined under Kukkiwon standards — the World Taekwondo Headquarters — by certified Poom/Dan examiners. Both Grandmaster Jeung and Master Philip Jeung hold examiner certification, so testing happens in-house to the same standard used worldwide.
